Untitled 3
I limited my cold wax palette to silver, mauve, blues and reds and built up layer after layer, exposing those underneath as I went, having used acrylic paint as an underlay.
The centre section has been resined to catch the light.
I love using the cold wax technique, being a mix of cold wax with oil paint or coloured pigments.
Contrary to encaustic wax, no fusing by heat is required.
I can't deny Rothko's influence here!
